Gandhinagar: In a veiled attack on Gujarat Congress, Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said it would have been better if those in power 15 years ago were more concerned about school dropout rate in the state than talking about the MoUs that have not materialised.
"Today, the other states are discussing how to replicate the Gujarat model of development," Modi said during the valedictory session of the 5th Vibrant Gujarat Summit (VGS) that ended in Gandhinagar.
"A number of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed during the summit, but there are those who keep track of only those MoUs which have not materialised," he said.

"I would like to tell them, if they had thought about how many children had dropped out of school 15 years ago, it would have been better," Modi said.
The BJP leader's remarks came in the wake of Congress accusing the Modi Government of corruption and irregularities in implementation of MoUs signed during the previous VGS events.
Leader of Opposition in Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil had alleged that public money was being spent on VGSs and demanded formation of Joint Legislative Committee (JLC) to probe the deals signed during the summits.
He had accused the BJP Government of favouring a select group of industrialists.
